Dr Begonya Enguix Grau (benguix@uoc.edu) (Orcid No. 0000-0002-5020-9019) is an Associate Professor in the Arts and Humanities Department of the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (Open University of Catalonia, UOC). She is an invited professor at the Institute for Cultural Anthropology and European Ethnology, Karl Franzens Universität, Graz (Austria) and at the Coordination Centre for Gender Studies (University of Graz). She holds a degree in American Anthropology (Universidad Complutense de Madrid), a degree in Advertising (UCM-UOC) and a PhD in Social and Cultural Anthropology /Urban Anthropology (Universitat Rovira i Virgili, Tarragona). She has participated in research projects on migration, anthropology of the body, gender, love, and digital identities among others. Nowadays she is the principal researcher of the project 'Genders and Postgenders: A Cartography of Gender Meanings (for Social Transformation)' (National Programme of R+D, 2017-2021) and of the project ‘Knitting Secessionism and Sovereignty: Politics, Emotions and Affect’ (Generalitat de Catalunya, 2019-2021). She also belongs to the research team of the projects ‘Experiences of information and communicative technologies from the perspective of autistic gender minority youth: A photo elicitation study’ (IP Dr Jason Schaub, University of Birmingham, 2020-2021, The INQYR SSHRC Partnership Grant) and ‘Queery’ing resilience: Leveraging information & communication technologies to negotiate gender and sexual minority youth identity and wellbeing within diverse global contexts’ (Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, Canada; PI Dr Shelley Craig (University of Toronto); 2018- 2025; https://www.inqyr.org/). She is a member of the European Network on Masculinities, Sex and Popular Culture funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (PI: Dr John Mercer, GB) and is the director of the International Conferences ‘Men in Movement’ (https://meninmovement.wordpress.com/mim_1/). She is the PI of the research group 'Medusa: Genders in Transition. Masculinities, Bodies, Affects and Technoscience' (UOC), recognised as a consolidated research group by the Generalitat de Catalunya. She belongs to the 'Research Group on Anthropology of the Body' (Catalan Institute of Anthropology), to the Research Group on Gender and Sexuality (European Association of Social Anthropologists), to the Research Group on Body, Affects, Senses and Emotions (SIEF, Societé Internationale d'Ethnologie et Folklore), to WG08 Society and Emotions (International Sociological Association), to RC 48 Social Movements, Collective Action and Social Change (International Sociological Association) and to Red Internacional de Sociología de las Sensibilidades (RedIIS). She lectures and conducts research on gender (particularly masculinities and other gender expressions), bodies, sexualities, affects, identities, and their assemblage with the media, with activism and politics. She has published over 60 works on these fields. In 2019 she was awarded the Aigner Rollett Guest Professorship in Women's and Gender Studies at Karl-Franzens Universität, Graz (Austria). She has published the recent books Sexualities, Gender and Violence: A View from the Iberian Peninsula (edited with Cristina Pereira Vieira, 2020, New York: Nova Publishers) and Orgullo, Protesta, Negocio y otras Derivas LGTB (2019, Madrid: Doce Calles).
